General Scroll Saw Talk / Slippery Fingers
« on: September 20, 2012, 07:57:46 pm »
I have to scroll  one handed which makes me really grip my stock.   I  find myself having to lick my sawdust dirty fingers (yuck)  :'(  like you do sorting paper just to keep in control.

Can anyone suggest any type of lightweight glove or something that enhances your grip and where to get/order one. I have pretty big hands so a larger size is required.

Thanks In Advance

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: blades

Dale. . .

There  are retrofit holders to convert your current pinned blade machine to use the pinless blades.

I  used this conversion kit from  Pozsgai's Designs.   I  converted my old Dremmal to use pinless blades.  It  was a  cheap investment to really  see if  I really wanted to be a Scroller.  You can switch back to the pinned blades pretty  easily as well.

General Scroll Saw Talk / How to tell if blade needs changing
« on: May 22, 2012, 08:00:20 pm »
Being new to this new addiction...  I  am still  puttzing around getting  a  feel for Scrolling.
Besides the obvious broken blade and "It just won't cut anymore"...   What  is a good  indicator  that your blade needs to  be  changed??

Thanks

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Top Feeding blades on Inside Cuts
« on: April 09, 2012, 10:35:25 pm »
Since I am new.... I  may have used the wrong termonology.....   Basically,   I  am  looking  for a unit  that can feed the blade thru the top of the work as opposed to detaching the blade from the top holder and feeding it through the bottom of the wood and reattaching the top holder.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Top Feeding blades on Inside Cuts
« on: April 09, 2012, 07:51:21 pm »
I was wondering if anyone knew of of another Scroll Saw besides the Dewalt that can top feed the blades when doing inside cuts as well as bottom feed.   I  am looking to upgrade my Old Dremmel in the future and comparing options.

Thanks In Advance. . .

Introduce Yourself. / Hello from KC, MO
« on: April 01, 2012, 10:08:59 pm »
My name is Jim....Just wanted to finally take a moment and introduce myself.  I  have  been monitoring the forum for a few months now and have learned a lot of valuable information.   I have been slowly modifying my OLD Dremmel to use pinless blades and to
make it one handed operational.   I only have one good hand to scroll with so it can be challanging at times.  I am slowly getting the right touch and  technique. I  am finding it very addicting!!
