Title: Arched or circular Script
Post by: Gabby on May 15, 2011, 05:11:36 pm: Does anyone know how to create arched or circular script and what program makes it possible?
I'm working in Windows XP Home edition. I think i've seen it done using Office but I'm not sure.

I've been mucking with "word art" for at least an hour and getting more frustrated by the minute. i finally did accomplish an arch but couldn't get it to form into a circle.

Word pad only works in a common straight horizontal line. I have a slew of fonts available that;s not my problem.

I would like to be able to print around the circumference of a round plaque or any other shape I might choose.

I hope it is helpful, let me know if you have questions.

Note* The pdf had to be cut into three pieces.

I tried to get similar info from MS word help, but it takes so long to find what your looking for and they have it named something else than expected, usually as TECH speak as well. I don't remember seeing similar symbols in WORD but if I did they didn't mean anything to me at the time.

Well Open Office it's got to be, I don't have MO just M-Works with just a few tools.

Katie knows that open office is a very useful and simple to use office suite.
I also suggest to play with the "Draw" in OO, which is really simple to use.
I do most of my basic patterns with that one!

Go to you tube and put Word Art in the Search box and you will get all the info you want and can go back as many times as you like and its FREE. In fact I find the Tube good for most subject questions I have

but inkscape has the same option. its called "text on a path" in the text menu.

works fine

made a small tutorial

type text "hallo"
changed text font into scrollsaw
made a circle shape
select text and shape
select text on a path in the text menu.

(use space to position the text on the shape)

Wanted to read something again, tried to re-open the file and it says it is a "PHP" file and I don't have software that handles PHP files. What would cause this. I can open it again, one time if I reboot and come back to it.
