General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Question on tension
« on: November 22, 2011, 06:36:48 am »
I don't know the saw but it sounds like the tension knob is backing off, on my Delta the tension bolt has a spring on it to prevent that from happening, maybe it could do with something like that on this saw or maybe wrapping some plumbers ptfe tape on the threads will help.

I've just cut Steve Goods peace on earth nativity out of 15mm (5/8ths) birch ply using a Flying Dutchman No3 scroll reverse blade, which it did like a hot knife through butter and still has plenty of life left in it.

MS Publisher has the ability to print a poster over 9 sheets. It's easy, just go to file, page setup and on the layout tab select poster in the publication type box.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Favorite Blade to Use

When I bought my saw I got a load of Niqua blades from what was Hobbies of Dereham, and must say that the no.5's are what I use the most, though I haven't tried any other brands.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: What kind of scroll saw do you own?

I have a Delta 40 - 560 type 2, it's the only saw i've used in over 10 years but wouldn't change it. I just love the quick release blade clamp, but the machines or spares are no longer available in the UK any more so when it breaks I think the next one will be an Excalibar which get a lot of favourable reports and are now being sold over here.
