Pine and Paduk Scalloped Bowl
« on: July 22, 2014, 06:26:21 pm »
Created this bowl from pine scraps and a 1/8 in hick leftover piece of paduk.  Sealed with tung oil and top coated with shellac.  This bowl is 5 1/2 inches wide x 7 3/4 inches long and 3 inches tall.  The walls of the bowl started at 3/8 inches thick and were sanded to around 1/4 inch.

Good job on that bowl!
I love doing bowls and vases. As a matter of fact, I have a vase in the works right now. It is maple and cherry and I'm taking construction photos of it as I work from step to step. I started it about three weeks ago and got sidetracked by a vacation and a project for a friend so I need to get back to it soon.
Will post a photo of it when I get it finished.
