General Scroll Saw Talk / Metal Cutting
« on: December 04, 2011, 06:35:30 pm »
Heys guys and gals. I know a few of you have cut metal before.I have some 3/16 aluminum and would like to know if that is to thick to cut and if not what blades do I use. I know there are metal cutting blades but I thought I read where you cut them using regular blades. Any help on this matter would be great. I am all ears. Thanks Dave.......

General Scroll Saw Talk / Heating my garage
« on: October 23, 2011, 12:39:07 am »
Ok I need a little bit of help here. I live in New Jersey and it gets pretty cold out during the late fall and winter. My garage is about 20x20.Its sheetrocked inside and I put up insulation, but it still gets cold.I do have a small heater, and I have a kerosene heater but I can't be inside when I am running that.I don't think the town will allow me to put in a pot belly stove because the pipe will have to come out thru my garage roof.Has anyone tried anything different that works? I will appreciate any information that you can give me. Thanks.   Dave

General Scroll Saw Talk / Mask and Glasses
« on: September 08, 2011, 04:38:15 pm »
Question guys?I have an overhead dust vacuum and a blower on my saw plus a fan and filter near what I am cutting. The problem is do you think I could get away without wearing a mask.Even though I have a mask that says will not fog up your glasses, it still does.Very annoying.I tried everything. I even went to a scuba diving store and they gave me these drops but I still get the fog.Let me know what you think...Thanks Dave

I told him. Then he said there should be no problem and also if I could make him something.Well that leaves me with this problem. What do you make a foot doctor?I know feet.hahaha.Seriously alittle help.

I was wondering if anyone has tried this out.I hooked it up the other day and it seems to work great.Do you think I could get away without a mask?I'm thinking no, because it probably doesn't get all the fine dust.
