What do you call it?
« on: January 23, 2013, 05:11:24 pm »
Making Intarsia?
Intarsist?
Intarsia Artist?
Intarsia Carver?
Intarsia Sculptor?
Woodworker?
Scroll Sawer?
Intarsiac...my own twist and personal favorite..

Not a big deal but have had a few friends ask what I'm up to now and seem to stumble over it calling it something different each time. Wondering if there is a commonly used description.

Will need it soon, after I progress from, "guy making scraps of wood with squiggly lines and rounded off turns with a scroll saw while breaking blades."

A person who does Intarsia is called an "Intarsist" according to Merriam-Webster:

When a person ask what I do I just say "I make Intarsias" and then they say " What is that" and that's when the long explanation starts.  LOL
