Hi Everyone
Well , after about 40 hours of cutting and fitting and redesigning , I finally got the ?Eagle?s Realm? intarsia project complete. Took about 3 hours today to glue in all 175 pieces and apply 2 coats of spray on satin poly. The biggest hurdle was getting the depth in the background but I got it, Whew that was tough!!! Woods used?Walnut, Holly, Spalted Beech, Spalted Sycamore, Yellowheart, Ebony, Fishtail Oak, Poplar, Lignum Vitae, Purpleheart, Afromosia, Vera wood, Peruvian Walnut, Tulipwood, Maple, Bloodwood, Pink Ivory. Fun project.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments.
Seems all I've doing lately is fixing furniture so this project was a nice change of pace. Was really fun to do some serious scrolling but you gotta do what you gotta do to pay the bills

That is awesome, nice job. I've looked at websites of wood suppliers but I cant find some of the wood you are talking about. Any suggestions where to look?

To Justmike--I've been collecting woods for use in my intarsia projects for almost 20 years and have built up a nice inventory. I have several different suppliers that I use for the exotics but I also keep an eye out for woods used in pallets and shipping crates. I also buy turning squares which I resaw and are fairly inexpensive..I have several tree guys that will bring me different domestics which I cut up into smaller boards.

Thanks everyone for the comments
To zeiglerwoodshed--I do several commissioned pieces a year but mostly do intarsia project kits along with custom woodworking and furniture repair and restoration work. Whatever it takes to keep the doors open. I will be offering "Eagle's Realm" as a kit this fall.
