I honestly don't know. Paint is primarily a photo editing program, but it does do lettering, vectors, bezier curves, shapes, fills etc etc so I would imagine it's fine for patterns - I certainly use it for mine.

Corel Paint Shop Pro Ultimate edition X8 cost me £34 direct from their website via Amazon.

They hold the work down and protect your fingers, there's one above and one below the table (depending on your model.)

Have you moved either of the safety guards/work holders up/down so that they're being caught by the arms as they move? That's quite a simple error to make that I fell foul to a few times before I took them off.

i can't find those patterns anywhere; they don't come up with searches for Christmas, Snowman, 2015, Layered, anything :(

I assume they're on Steve's site catalog? Can you give me a pointer please.

Cheers.

Welcome from here in the UK.

Hi there, I'm a UK scroll sawer too.

I spent ages trying to find a decent supply of wood and in the end found a local (ish) woodyard where I wander around and pick-up odds and ends that will suit me. Some they let me have for ?1-2 whereas other pieces they charge me the full rate. It depends who serves me and how long the piece is.

I tried the other routes of asking local joiners & kitchen makers if they'd let me buy offcuts off them and not one was interested :(

Good luck.

I got the entire Corel X8 suite direct from Corel for ?34 (GBP) earlier this year in a sale (reduced from ?70), and that works perfectly in both Windows 7 and 10.

Keeps your eyes open for another sale?

That Schwibbogen is epic - it puts my home-made designs to shame, I need to up my game!

I bought a cheapo one for my Excal-16 and I love it, it's so much easier for doing all the interior cuts of fine work than the fiddly on/off button atop the machine. (My Excal doesn't have the safety cutout switch that I forget the name of.)

Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but did anything come of it? I would be interested if it ever (unlikely I guess) came to fruition.

Bag of holes, I love it :)

Great work, you certainly have more patience than me, I think even the drilling alone "wood" have driven me insane.
