General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Interest in Intarsia

I am very interested, and have started on soem of the designs by KAthy Wise in her book "Intarsia Woodworking For Beginners".  Some one suggested doing a hands on video showing technic, etc.  I also have an interest in carving and have been watching a series of videos on Youtube.  Seeing it being done is for me always easier to understand.

Steve, I find that my e-mail address is incorrect (my fault), how do I access the profile to make the change.  Also is there a spell checker?

Intarsia / Re: This may sound like a stupid question . . . . .

As a newbie to the intarsia world, I am starting out with segmentation and learning new technics as I go along.  I am working my way through "Intarsia Woodworking For Beginners" by Kathy Wise.  With that said, I would love to see "segmentation" discussed here!

Introduce Yourself. / Introduce myself

Hi I am Pieter Vander Tuin from Clackamas, Oregon.  I have am retired and have been scrolling for 7 years in a small area of my two car garage.  Have put together all of my major power tools on rolling stands so they take as little space as possible; the rolling tools consist of drill press, belt/spindle sander, contractors table saw, and a band saw.  The Dewalt srollsaw staytionary in an out of the way corner were I can use both day light and electric lights as needed.  I have done boxes, tray puzzles, free-standing puzzzles, toys for the grandsons and neighbor kids, as well as frett work.  Started doing some carving about a year ago, and have finally started doing intarsia within the last two months.

I have used Steves patterns or modifications of them ever since he has started his blog and e-mail.  Sometimes I just have to cut even when I know I will not be able to sand and finish the project right away, so I generally have a drawer or box full of waiting to be finshed projects.

Wife just annouced breakfast is ready, so got to run and get the day started.
