you have a good point there, so here is a lesson dutch:
the g (and the ch) is pronounced a bit as scraping your throat as when a fish bone gets stuck.
It's probably the most difficult character to learn if you not dutch.
In the second world war they use spoken sentences as password with a lot of g's in it because the German's had problems pronouncing it.
now days, due to all the English words that we have "borrowed" and because of the popularity of the sport, golf is pronounced in English.
but your right, golff is pronounced different than golf
