I'm looking for a very detailed pattern of a hawk or eagle in full flight where the finished size would be 8 - 12 inched wide. I have found a few patterns where the bird is just coming in to land, and have done one of them in walnut--it turned out very nice. But now, I'd like one where the bird is just soaring with its legs tucked in, not down as if ready to land. I would like lots of detail too--something that would take many hours to do.
Any ideas where I can find it--it doesn't have to be free :)
Thanks,
Jim

Wooden Teddy Bear comes to my mind...they have some pretty detailed stuff in their 'Advanced' plans section. check their website...
also look at things listed as Native American...soaring eagles are sometimes incorporated into those patterns

WOW you guys are awesome. I haven't had much chance to look at the replies to my question until now. The patterns that have been posted are great--now I have to decide which one to use. Maybe I'll have to do more that one project of a soaring eagle.
I am using a piece of black cherry wood that was the outside edge of the log after the log had been cut into rough planks. With my planer, I have planed off some of the bark but have still left about 1" of bark down the 2 edges. It will give the finished project a nice outdoor look. I have already done one project of an owl sitting on a branch on the same type of wood, and want this piece to hang near it on the wall when finished. I'll post pictures when I get it done.
G.B. you always give us a good laugh--I love the jet flame coming after the hawk.
Thanks everyone.

I'm still laughing every time I come back to this question. When I told my wife and daughter about all the funny responses, she said: "Now see what you started!"
Thanks again GB and everyone for the pattern suggestions. Tonight, I'll have to decide which one to start on.
