Just want to thank all of yall for your kind words, and so far I am amazed at the difference in my sight! What is really amazing is the colors are so much brighter! I will be having my other eye(left) done May 9, so my scrolling will again be interrupted, but, it will be worth it. If the left one turns out as good as the right one has, I will be superman!LOL

Without Steve and this forum, I would only be building bird houses, dog houses, and picnic tables. Now, I can enjoy the wonderful world of scrolling! I had not even thought about a scroll saw until I found this web and began reading about scrolling, watching Steve's tutorials, and studying all about scroll saws. THANK YOU STEVE!!

Just had cataract surgery on right eye, and Doc says NO SAW DUST for 7 days!! I am already going into "dust withdrawal" LOL! Will certainly have to wear goggles, and wiil have left eye done in 4 weeks, so again NO DUST for 7 days. Oh well, at least I will be able to see my mistakes!? LOL

I have been scrolling now for about 4 weeks, and have self-taught myself and I learned everything from this forum and the scrollsaw woodworking forum. Everthing I have cut so far I have gotten from Steve's patterns. I have so much more to learn, and the folks here are willing to help and discuss your needs and questions. I have an Ex 21 and the table, after about a month, has more scratches than I expected. I have used paste wax on it, pretty heavy. Any advice?

How long should a blade last? I am using Olson blades, and have been changing out after about 30 minutes. Just wandering if this is necessary. I am new at this, so you pros let me know what you do. Thanks for your input.
