Title: Saved pattern PDF thumbnail viewHi Steve
Post by: billybob911 on August 10, 2010, 03:24:12 pm
Hi Steve, First can I just say how much I value your web page resource, patterns, demo's and members patterns, and advice etc.  I am most grateful, bless you!

I run windows XP home edition and wondered if there is a way that when I view my saved pattern folder, that the PDF thumbnail image could display page 2 so that I can quickly see the pattern image at a glance?

Thanks again!

Thanks for the kind words. Unfortunately Windows does not have that feature. A while back I started adding the picture to the first page of the patterns at the request of several readers. This helps going forward but the old patterns are too numerous to go back and update. There is a program available that allows you to catalog pdfs using any picture but it is quite expensive. The name of the program if Filepick and there is a link to it on my blog if your interested.

I use a program called PDF Split and Merge.  It is free and fairly easy to navigate.  Just Google PDFsam and download the file and install.  Then you can rearrange the pages in any PDF file to your liking.

I have been using that program (PDF Split and Merge) for about a year now. If I find a pattern I like but would like to make changes, I can isolate the page. I then import it as a vector graphic and make any changes I need.

Here is the link:http://www.pdfsam.org/ (http://www.pdfsam.org/)  8)

I want to give credit to Silver Sliver for posting it first.  :)
