General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: dw7881 worklight need a replacment bulb

Here is my 2 cents worth, I read several reviews on the Dewalt scroll saw light, and decided not to get it, as I had been using a magnifier light with my old saw, figure I could use it on my new one, either a stand or a mount of some kind, this is what I came up with, this is version 1, working on the 2nd ver. in between projects, only get to work a bit in the evening, as its outside on my back porch and even in Texas can get cold out there.
Ver 2 will use a thicker piece of aluminum angle and some longer screws to mount to the saw, but I used the mounting holes for the factory option.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Foot switch
« on: November 20, 2016, 11:28:55 pm »
I picked up the HF foot switch, the dead man type, been using it on the Craftsman while I wait on the Dewalt to arrive, should be Monday, the 21st or so I was told :)
My question for my fellow scroll sawyers, where do you place your footswitch for max comfort, thinking of making a platform, or footrest, with the switch mounted to it, maybe at a slight angle, sorta like a gas peddle in a truck or car, as it is, the switch is so light, it tends to move if not careful.
I was thinking a foot rest, would keep it in place and the angle may be easier on the foot, since we do use the gas peddle, and it would almost seem a natural to "hit the gas" so to speak, even told the wife I bought a gas peddle for the new saw.
What do ya'll think of the platform idea??
Thanks ya'll

Just want to say thanks for the add, great site, lots of good info and help, been scrolling on and off many years, been using a old Craftsman scroll saw, single speed, no blower, I got a kit from Pozsgai's Designs to change it to a quick change and use plain blades, got some FD blades and WOW, what a diff.

Now have a DW788 coming in and cant wait to get it set up, will keep you posted.
