Intarsia Hummingbird
« on: August 31, 2012, 05:32:28 pm »
I posted this on the Intarsia link, but I don't think many people go there, so I thought I would post it here as well.

Used nine different woods, Wenge, Maple, Blood wood, Walnut, Aspen,Poplar, Purple Heart, Bubinga and Red Cedar.
It?s finished with five coats of Deft Semi Gloss Lacquer and I in-layed a penny on the back for dating the year made. (Intarsia92's Idea) It is 16" in diameter.

The pattern is by Judy Gale Roberts.

I missed it on the intarsia page. This is beautiful. Love the detail work and the colors are super. Also what a fantastic job with sanding. Thanks for sharing. Intarsia is something I hope to get good at.
