Title: Framing the Picture
Post by: pddesertrat on October 27, 2014, 12:58:52 pm
One of the things I have struggled with is making frames for my scroll pictures.  I struggle for a easy, CHEAP method to clamp the frames while gluing them together.  I think I have finally found a shop made clamp, that is easy to make, only costs some scrap wood and a little time.  Here is a short video that I found on Youtube that shows the clamp.  I made a couple of them last night after watching this video and darn they seem to work great.  I'd like to shake this guys had for thinking this up!

It's funny that you should bring this up today. I was thinking just this morning that I might make a picture frame and maybe take some pictures and make another tutorial about "how I do it".
I have a jig that will clamp up the entire frame all at once using only one clamp! That and another way to add splines for strength on mitered frames (but the splines don't do much for "looks").  ;)
Guess I have a project for tomorrow!  ;D
