General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: scrollsaw purchase
« on: December 16, 2013, 05:14:00 pm »
I have the predecessor to the current PS wood, same design and parts. Unlike Graybeard I don't have a problem with the blade changing or the when there are inside cuts. I'm not the fastest scroller in the world so if it takes a bit more thats alright with me.
The saw is relatively vibration free, you can change speeds by flipping the belt under the table (I mostly scroll at the same speed). It has plenty of power to cut most anything. Its a bottom feeder, I have had it for 2 to 3 years, no problems. I added the quick blade changer to my older machine. I'm satisfied!

I don't do fretwork so that influences what you want and need.

looks like you picked a good saw. My advice is to now hook it up to 220V. You'll be amazed at the power difference.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Headband Magnifiers
« on: November 07, 2012, 10:43:40 pm »
I have a headband magnifier and use it frequently, however not for scrolling. For me the focal length is too short and you have to be close to the object to see clearly. I prefer to not be that close scrolling. However for fine details and handheld items it works great.

The Coffee Shop / Re: Sleep apnea

Yeah, been there done that and have well worn tee shirt! I've been using a CPAP for several years. Its now my best friend at night. I can usually sleep thru the night and wake refreshed. It takes a while to get the right mask but worth it to me. Have a friend that went the other route (surgery) and he's happy with it, just has to be careful eating. If you have sleep apnea you need to do something, its dangerous not doing anything.

one other thought is to check your connections for a loose wire. that could also cause the increased amperage.

Here's an update for me. Windows XP with firefox and IE don't load the file. Google Chrome does and works well. Windows 7 with IE or Firefox does not work for me.
