And a hearty welcome from Tennessee. I also enjoy both the lathe and scrolling. Have just started scrolling this year and really enjoying. If you have any questions, look around, explore and ask!

I was to my closest WC on Thursday looking at the BB ply. Most of the weight was in the 3/4" with several pieces of 1/8" thrown in. I passed on that but did pick up some items I "needed". I've found them to be helpful and willing to discuss and advise.

The Coffee Shop / DHL virus
« on: November 02, 2010, 03:55:37 pm »
I just received an email purported to be from dhl the delivery company about a package they couldn't deliver. They wanted me to open an attachment. Sounded bogus to me so I googled and found this message from dhl about this virus  http://www.dhl.com/en/about_us/new_virus.html
Don't open the attachment, it is a virus.

RE: eBay. I've bought and sold about 1500 items on eBay with very few problems. I stay away from new sellers without much feedback and those that make their money through shipping charges. There's a whole lot of honest people out there selling as a first or second income in this economy.

Janet, I believe you are still correct about out of state sales. However our great politicians are after all the money they can get and want to start taxing all internet sales - so far however its not passed.

As for in state sales, you are usually responsible for reporting and collecting state sales taxes whether you are a business or hobby- no difference in most states. I have heard of some trying to collect sales tax on garage sales!!! If you have an on-going presence on-line you will usually be requires to collect the tax. This is the way I read the rules in Michigan and Tennessee.

I've been thinking the same thing. Thought I'd try to stack to about 3/8" and wrap in tape with a extra bottom piece for scrap. Anybody tried something like that?
