« on: May 30, 2010, 06:36:42 pm »
I am the worlds worst speller! Fortunately I found a good spell check program.
You can download it at www.iespell.com. Once it is downloaded, you right click on your mouse, and click on iespell and the spell checker will come up!
Its a great tool especially for those that are afraid to post because thy don't spell well.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Top feeding on a DeWalt
« on: May 30, 2010, 06:07:27 pm »
One of the best features of the DeWalt 788 is the ability to lift the upper arm and feed the blade from the top. The only problem I encounter is the bottom of the blade bends after tightening the lower blade clamp three or four times. This can make it difficult to load the blade into a tiny hole. Has anyone overcome this problem?

So what are you all doing this weekend? Today I will be watching auto racing all day.

General Scroll Saw Talk / I am a top feeder!
« on: May 06, 2010, 12:24:10 am »
For those of you who have a saw with a lifting upper arm such as DeWalt and Excalibur, How many of you top Feed? With my old saw I had no choice but to feed from the bottom. But since I've owned my DeWalt, I have become a top feeder!
I do a lot of fret work and can't imagine feeding from the bottom any more.
So how about you, are you a bottom feeder or a top feeder?

Introduce Yourself. / Hi from So. Ca.
« on: April 19, 2010, 11:50:02 pm »
Hi everyone. My name is Dan. Been scrolling about 12 or so years. I like all aspects of scrolling including intarsia, portrait, fretwork and what ever feels good to cut.
I teach scroll saw at the local Woodcraft store in Ventura, Ca.
I cut on a DW788, and that is what the store provides for the students.
I will be happy to answer question and and am anxious to participate in this forum!
