Title: Just Completed
Post by: pddesertrat on October 12, 2014, 09:56:19 pm
I just completed cutting this one this evening.  It is a pattern from Scroll Saw Village done by Seyit.  I figure it took me about 15 hours cutting time.  I used 2/0 and 3/0 Flying Dutchman spiral blades.  I promised myself, no more cutting until I finish and frame the ones I have done so far.  It is hard to stay away for the scroll saw.

That's a lot of cutting. Nice job. Any special framing plans?

Thanks all for the nice comments.  I'm open to suggestions on frames.  I am going to concentrate on making some frames.  Need to get set up for it and make some gluing clamps.  I am not very imaginative on making frames so am afraid mine won't be anything very spectacular.

Hi Paul....  My FIRST IMPRESSION when I opened your post was WOW!  Now that looks GREAT.  Such a Clean looking Scrolling.  You have come a long way and what I see is Perfection Plus.  AND WITH A SPIRAL BLADE.  Not me.  Can't master it.  Please keep showing us your projects.  I love to view them....  "Danny"  :+}

Do you like the spiral blades the best?

Thanks for all the very kind words.   They make it worth the hours sitting there scrolling....  well I love doing it so I would do it anyway

I absolutely do, they just seen so much easier to use for me.  I'm sure I will find places where I need a flat blade, but 98% of the time it is 3/0 Flying Dutchman New Spirals for me.  I have not done anything with them but this kind of portrait work.  They may not work as well on other types of scrolling, I don't know.
