General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: My last sale of the year was great!

My brain does not recall an image of your "stars"  Mind sharing an image with us?  Congrats on being caught up with your inventory needs from last year.  That is remarkable in a couple of months you have all of the sold items replaced.

Vegetable oil and canola oil etc can turn rancid.  Not recommended for cutting boards.  There are salad bowl finishes on the market specifically for this use but MS is much less expensive.

I glued a piece of sandpaper onto a piece of granite left over from a counter install.  Really intricate pieces I can sand on this along with using emery boards and needle files for in between the frets.

I just cut that one yesterday.  I didn't go all fancified like you did.   Yours turned out much nicer than mine.  It is just some hard maple.  I'm going to do a couple more but make them a little more elegant like yours.  Thanks for the inspiration.

Enjoyed reading the entire article and viewing your video.  Nicely done all around including the clocks.  I don't think it was necessary to hot glue the clock to the back of the wooden faces though.  The twist on ferrels would hold it in place.  Gluing the clock housing will make it difficult to replace in the future if need be.  Just my opinion of course.  Looking forward to your next warped ideas..and those pix elated ones of course.

Great job and I love the way you decided to laminate the word art in between the frame and the backer.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: wax and Tension

I too use Johnson's Paste Wax  as it contains no silicone.  Silicone can leach into your wood and ruin a project.

I've been scrolling since the mid 80's and I always release the tension on my blade on my SS and my band saw.  Just seems to me it will reduce stress on the mechanical parts (and the wheels on the band saw) and the blades themselves.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Height saw setup

I agree with what Roger said.  I've been using my setup so long anything else seems foreign to me.

Table of saw at elbow height, tilted forward.  Foot switch mounted to leg of saw stand so I can use knee to turn on and off.  Extra lamp beside the saw along with dust collection & blade storage etc..
