Hi all,
I've been a lurker for a while but only registered yesterday. My name is Mark, I live in the UK and I got into this hobby in November '15 after visiting Bruges and seeing Schwibbogen in a shop and thinking I'd like to have a go at making them. I've done the usual route of making animals and signs and "forcing" plenty of ornaments/items/junk on my other half as testers.
Here's my latest Schwibbogen, made for my mother, it's her house, her and partner and a couple of chickens. The whole thing is made from Birch Ply and is 14" long, it's got a simple finish of satin varnish and nothing else. There's a mains powered strip of LED's between the two house layers to provide lighting. It's not actually as bright and flary as the image suggests, that's the crappy camera on my phone.
Hope she likes it!

Hi Mark and welcome to the site. Your Schwibbogen came out great. There are a lot of local landmarks in my town that I'd like to create in wood and a Schwibbogen is a good way to present it.

Welcome Mark and great job on that. Thanks for sharing it with us. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
