Title: Hello, Folks
Post by: SigP on October 27, 2014, 09:07:19 pm
Hello from Florida - I've been wanting to try scroll sawing for a while. I've been following this forum for a while and joined a couple of days ago. Ordered a saw and it arrived today. Spent the afternoon turning good boards into sawdust and having way too much fun.

Anyway, I love the forum -- lots of good information here. Thanks to everyone for sharing what you know.

Great to have you join us.  You can learn a lot here and the more you learn the more fun it becomes.  What type of scrolling are you interested in?

Greetings and welcome.  Unless you are in Miami or Marco Island I'm probably south of you in Naples.

Which saw did you purchase?

Karl

Thanks for the welcome.

Wanting to do intarsia. I did a pretty simple one today and it looks like a first grader's crayon drawing. Doing it again and (so far) the new one is looking much better. I couldn't figure out why I couldn't follow a line. Changed the blade and it is much easier. I am realizing now that I have MUCH to learn.

Greetings and welcome.  Unless you are in Miami or Marco Island I'm probably south of you in Naples.

I'm north of you. I'm just south of Tampa a bit. I got the Excalibur 16 -- mostly based on stuff I read in this forum.
