Title: New Member in Tasmania
Post by: TassieScroller on January 03, 2021, 05:53:52 pm
Hi all.

My Wife bought a scroll saw back in the 90's - a Hegner.  She made toys that she sold at Salamanca Markets in Hobart.  Her pine kangaroo that walks down a plank was much in demand.

Time rolls on and we are now retired.  The scroll saw has been unused for quite a few years and I recently decided to get into scrolling myself.  The saw is an older model (of course) and I have fitted a couple of new pieces to it to help with fretwork (the original system demanded blade removal, clamp undo with key, re-threading and then tightening the clamp before replacing blade on the arms and workpiece on the table).

After producing a couple of puzzles (a box and a 3D dolphin) I was looking for inspiration when I came across the Scrollsaw Workshop and the downloadable patterns.  Just what I needed - downloaded a couple, made a donation and am now heading for the shed to make good use of our warm summer weather (The Shed is cold in winter!)
