JGR Wreath
« on: July 07, 2010, 11:57:05 am »
This is a pattern from JGR.

I've cut this 4 times as gifts. Except for the bow, many pureists wouldn't call it true intarsia.

This time I used padauk for the bow.  Leaves are walnut, oak, cherry, mahogany, and the balls are maple (I think).  I colored my balls with H2O stain.

Backer is ? MDF.

As always, comments are welcome.

Whether the purists call it "true intarsia" or not, it is beautiful!  All that counts is you did a wonderful job! Thanks for sharing with us.  It is an inspiration. ;)

Maybe I could have worded it better.  When I developed my slogans to make my cuttings sell better I was also faulted.

They were:

"I want to do your scrolling in the worst possible way."

and

"I've upped my standards, so up yours."

From what I see you are the only one that thought it was so I am just going to keep my comments to myself from now on.

You can count me in as another who thought it. I was going to ask what your wife thought of your stained balls but then I saw dragonlord beat me to it. Ha!!
