Thank you for the information. I am still learning and know I still probably do not always use the best blade. I cut thick wood 1" to 1.25" thick for boxes. and tried #5, #7, #9 and you are right the best way to see what works is to try different blades. Thanks again for a great post and great blades.

Thanks Mike: I have that one saved. When I get questions asked, how do you do that, ect. I have a "Show and Tell". I hope you don't mind my using it. The more people we get into this hobby, the longer it will last.

Some old jigsaws

I can just imagine the little midget pulling on the handle of the earliest ones shown on this link.  ;D
Either that or the sawyer would have to have had 3 arms. The foot powered must have been a real leap forward in ease of use and convenience! Thankfully we have powered saws today.

Some old jigsaws

Can you just imagine the work out it would be to use one of those things especially if you had to cut with one hand and pull with the other. Where is that little person to do the hard part?

A very informative post you have made.  By reading this, you have given me some answers that I wanted to know.  I have just started doing the Scroll Saw hobby, and am learning as I go along and reading posts such as this.  Thanks for your info.  Well done.  :)
