New Bank design
« on: March 19, 2018, 08:44:52 am »
Had a customer that wanted a Dinosaur Bank for her 5 year old.  This is what I came up with.

Made from 5 layers of cabinet grade plywood, shaped and sanded then sealed with tung oil and then stained with a watered down acrylic paint to allow the grain to show through.  Finished with shellac.  The bank is ~14 inches tall and ~ 11 1/2 inches long and 3 3/4 inches wide.

Nice project!  Looks like T-rex "ate" a two dollar bill.   ;)

How is the money removed?  Is there an opening some where?

My banks all use a 1 1/2 wide dowel with a 1/8 in dia. cross dowel that makes a 1/4 turn and lock system.  No need to disassemble the bank to get the money out.

That should have brought "Customer Satisfaction" to a parent with a custom made bank for their child.  That's a nice effort.   GLC

Working on it.  Have about 10 banks or there about so far am shooting for an even dozen before I actually release anything.
