Hello from across the pond
« on: October 19, 2017, 01:24:35 pm »
Hi folks,
Gary here AKA Shufflex. Thank you for allowing me onto these forums.

I am a 54 year old novice when it comes to scrolling, In fact I have never made anything out of wood in my life.

Now everything is not as smooth as it could be, this is due to having a very small man-cave in fact you could call it a mini man-cave. It actually measures 54"  x  78".

Inside I have,
work table
Scroll saw
Tabletop router table with built in router
Black and decker sander attached to a shelf
a vacuum cleaner to act as a dust extractor when using the machines
Table lamp with flexible neck
Set square
Drill
Screws
Nails
Glue
adhesive
painters tape ( I think thats the terminology)
Packing tape
Stanly knife
Steel ruler
and some screw drivers

Do I need anything else other than wood?

Many thanks
Gary

Hi, Gary,
From the sounds of your supplies, it just looks like you need to request some patterns or
go to Steve Good's site here http://www.stevedgood.com/catalog/ to find some free ones.
Steve adds new patterns almost daily!
Let us see what appeals to you and how you cut your projects!
Lots of friendly people here to answer any questions and we always like to hear new ideas
or new thought processes.
Enjoy yourself!
God Bless! Spirithorse

Many thanks Spirithorse,
I had already got the catalogue but not really sure what I will need to cut and what I don't ( Hope that makes sense)
I am going to put a request in for a pattern very shortly.
I am trying to work out what would be involved in making a scroll saw dispenser/holder but thats for the future.
Giving the Mini Man-Cave a lick of paint tomorrow and will be starting cutting things on Sunday.

Gary
