Child safe woods
« on: October 01, 2017, 11:14:43 am »
I am expecting my first grandchild and would like to make a baby gym (something like  this http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gkVEJWsYFKA/Ut3tcH_cQXI/AAAAAAAAEbs/1oVJDlzTHfQ/s1600/IMG_7946.JPG).  I am not sure I want to use pine, but are there any woods that I should avoid?

I would avoid any tropical hardwood with the exception of Mahogany, My personal choice would domestic hardwood like Cherry, or Maple, or Walnut, something that is close grained and not prone to splintering
