The Coffee Shop / It is good to be here
« on: December 24, 2018, 04:17:36 pm »
I had a serious health scare Friday.  Upon arriving home from the hospital yesterday I have heard from people I haven't heard from in years since I moved to the state of Indiana.  Listening to their voices again was seriously good medicine.  I know we get on with our lives as time goes and we don't have the time or we forget those we have known.  Please people if not for the season or anything else get a hold of someone and let them know you were thinking them.  And for god's sake let your family that you love them.  My wife is a tuff young bird but seeing her brake down in the E.R.  well....I was thinking more about her well being than mine.  So with that, to everyone that frequents this blog,  I truly wish a Merry Christmas to you and yours and all the best in the coming year

I can remember word for word my favorite songs from the 80's, but I can't remember what I just walked into the kitchen for.

The Coffee Shop / Paypal
« on: August 03, 2018, 07:16:40 pm »
Ok this is more of a dummy asking what is probably a simply answered question.  Does PAYPAL have fee of any sort for signing up?  I need to order some stuff and a PAYPAL account is required and since I am not a mental giant when it comes to computers, a little help would be really great before I dive in.

Thanks

The Coffee Shop / Smiling Faces
« on: December 22, 2017, 08:13:08 am »
The last several of years I have cut Christmas ornaments for the kids and grand kids.  Never have I made a dime for anything I have cut.  I just do it for something to do.  The last several years I have made many many ornaments from Shelia Landry and Sue Mey for my wife to take into  the retirement home she works at.  This year it was sleds from Miss Landry and snowglobes from Sue Mey.  My wife says "The smiles on those peoples faces was worth more than the cost and time to make everything"  She's been kind of down the past couple of weeks because of her dad's health.  So she was in a pretty good mood last night when she got home from work.  So to that, Merry Christmas everyone.

Pattern Requests. / Hair Barrettes
« on: April 06, 2016, 04:17:02 pm »
Does anyone know of a place I can go to get patterns for hair barrettes and the clips to go with them.  I've got 3 granddaughters with birthdays coming up and thought I'd do something different to go along with the birthday card... many thanks in advance.

Anybody have an idea on what to use to put together the movable parts of a whirly gig.  Nothing comes to mind which is not unusual for me but any help would be more than great.  Thanks in advance

General Scroll Saw Talk / Table Height
« on: December 20, 2015, 08:10:14 pm »
My wife surprised with with an early Christmas gift.  A Delta 40-694 scroll saw.  Now due to a mild heart attack on the 4th of this month I can't put it together(weight restrictions) until my brother in law arrives for Christmas.  But here is the reason for the post.  I need to build a stand for the saw before he arrives.  I have seen posts here talking of table height and angle of the table but I can't locate them.  Can anybody give me a hand on these and much thanks in advance.

Brag Forum / Sewing Box
« on: June 26, 2015, 10:17:07 am »
Here is a sewing box I made for the wife.  A few errors and a lot learned.  The lids are a pattern from Mr. Steve Good, used for this need thank you sir.  My wife likes it even with the errors(they bother me) but again a lot learned.

Computer questions / 32 bit or 64 bit
« on: March 03, 2015, 06:27:01 am »
I should probably know this but how does a person find out if they have a 32 bit or 64 bit setup on a computer.  I am wanting to add Inkscape and would like to get things correct the first time.  Thanks in advance for any help.

Computer questions / pixels to inches
« on: November 25, 2014, 09:25:42 pm »
Hello all;
Maybe it is just me being simple minded, but does anyone know how to convert pixels to inches.  My cheesy picture program wont allow me any choice but pixels
Thanks Bill

Introduce Yourself. / New at this
« on: November 21, 2014, 09:45:22 pm »
Colorado transplant to Indiana.  Wife said I needed a hobby and a co-worker brought some of his scroll work in for me to see.  It's been both fun and frustrating(have to keep telling myself to slow down).  But looking around the website, this is a great place to be
