General Scroll Saw Talk / Steve’s new saw
« on: April 01, 2021, 09:18:38 am »
Today’s newsletter has Steve addressing a new saw he’s trying out. Here’s a copy/paste of the pricing, the saw sure won’t be coming to my house at this $$$.
They have not announced pricing yet but I'm told it will be priced in the $20,000 range. I have a coupon code for you to get 1% off the full retail price. That brings it down to $19,800. That is going to be difficult to pass up.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Finish on Steve’s Medallion ?
« on: October 13, 2019, 04:21:21 pm »
For the first time I am going to use 1 of Steve’s custom medallions on the side of a small Rocking Horse . If I put it in the drilled shallow hole just before I finish with clear polyurethane will it appear ok or should I put in place later and not apply the clear polyurethane over the medallion? Thanks!

General Scroll Saw Talk / Nativity material ?
« on: September 05, 2018, 05:56:15 pm »
The Nativity display that was offered today (9/5/18) requires 1/4” thick material. I am lost what to use for that requirement that present a nice look without a ply edge look. Any advice I’d appreciate as to material to use ? Thanks so much.

Brag Forum / Noah's Ark
« on: March 04, 2018, 01:21:15 pm »
Heres a great Noah's Ark set I just finished and am quite happy with. The Ark is Poplar, various woods from the misc. scrap[?] box were used for the Animals and Mr. and Mrs. Noah. The thickness of the pieces except the ramp are 3/4" and 1/2" and I quite enjoyed sorting out the pieces to use for the Animals. This plan I bought with Steve's recent discount promotion with Toymakingplans.com. Enjoy my build  :)

« on: January 04, 2018, 07:16:12 pm »
Our pencil Christmas tree is going to stay up for an unknown amount of time with the thought of decorating with ornaments for the seasons ,holiday,etc..
As a new scroller I’d like for some direction to look for some patterns to fit such descriptions. Any input on a source(s) of such patterns would be appreciated. Thanks so much —

General Scroll Saw Talk / Advice for Led magnifying light
« on: October 16, 2017, 08:23:35 pm »
I use my Excalibur Scrollsaw as a support tool for my woodworking hobby interest. I’m finding more and more enjoyment from using my saw and I see a Magnifying Light would be a huge bonus for me towards my cutting and with today’s impressive LED’s I’m sure I’d be happy with this setup. I’m a big believer in experience and I’d like to know some pro’s/con’s or what your using to help guide me. Thanks so much—
