General Scroll Saw Talk / Maximum Scroll Saw
« on: February 25, 2018, 08:02:37 am »
Hi everyone. My scroll saw was purchased in Canada at Canadian Tire. The name on the saw is "Maximum" but I wonder if it is sold elsewhere under a different name. It seems to be a bit of an oddball and I want to improve the blade clamping system, so if it goes by another name I may be able to find an aftermarket blade clamp. Any help would be appreciated. I have attached a pic if that helps identify the saw.

Ask Steve a question. / Blade holder on my saw

Hi Steve:
I have a "maximum" scroll saw sold here in Canada by Canadian Tire. Pinless blades are held in place by a set screw which seems to bend the blade and causes the blade to sit at an angle. The manual is no help, as it says to gently tighten the blade with the screw. Here is a pic of the saw. Tomorrow I will try and get a good pic of the blade holder in hopes that you have seen similar and can give advice. Thanks.

I got an ad for twelve ebooks of plans from this site. Does anyone know if there are simple plans in these books or are they fairly difficult?

General Scroll Saw Talk / Blades
« on: June 02, 2017, 11:15:21 am »
Hi everyone. I just cut a small batmobile out of 1.5 inch thick pine. The car is about 4 inches long and two inches high. It is by far the most accurate cut I have ever made, ( I am a rookie to the scrollsaw) but it took forever to make the cut. I used a #7 skip tooth pinless blade and I would think that the skip tooth is at least part of my speed problem. I seem to get speed with pinned, large blades but lose the accuracy. Can anyone help? Thanks

Hi: Dave here. I'm new to scroll saw work. I just joined and am looking to connect with members making simple wooden toys.
