Title: New avenue for scroll saw talk
Post by: Charles Dearing on November 22, 2014, 01:05:12 pm
Introducing "Scrolling with Charlie". The Google Hangout show is recorded LIVE and posted to my channel on youtube. The show is NOT about me. It's about the art of scroll sawing. Anything done on a scroll saw.
It will feature a panel of up to 9 people (aside from me hosting...that's the limit of participants in the on-air portion levied by Google Hangouts).
It will also have a special guest feature at times, general questions and answers, tutorials, etc.
It is open to ANYONE whether brand new to using a scroll saw (or considering it) on up to seasoned veterans. It will also have topics related to scroll sawing (like designing, designers, sources, etc).
Google Hangouts has an option to just view and submit questions and/or comments or to be on the actual live on-air show. Each show will have two links. One to view, one to participate. Those links will be posted in the group (linked below) before each show. Announcements regarding show topics, guests, etc will be posted there as well.
The day and time of the show will be Saturdays at 5 pm to 6 pm central time zone. ( 3 Pacific time, 4 Mountain time, 7pm Eastern time ). This will be a weekly show. The time was chosen to avoid overlapping other popular woodworking related Google Hangouts (Brain Gidney's "The Summers Woodworking Show", Drew Short's "ASKRH" and Jason McGinn/Matt Brander's Maritime Woodworkers - The Weekend Woodworkers Shop Talk). With respect I ask that you please NOT join in the actual on camera/panel if you have no real interest in scroll sawing. Of course, I appreciate friends in the woodworking community very much, but I'd like to use the on camera panel for people genuinely interested in the tool, designing patterns for it, questions being answered, offering advice, etc.
It's the group to be in if you don't want to miss any of the details pertaining to anything about the show.

I just finished watching the Hangout and it was pretty enjoyable.  I'm sure it will get better as everyone get use to how it all works.  I didn't participate this time, I am a little camera shy, but I may get braver in the future.  I think it is worth a watch.  Mark your calendars for next Saturday.

Charlie  - sorry I missed the 1st show but will try to catch it next weekend.

One comment - your 1st post says you start at 5PM central, 7PM Eastern. Note that should be 6PM Eastern.
